Almond Oil

Is a great emollient and lubricant, restoring moisture in the body and combating itching and inflammation.

Aloe Vera

an all-natural skin tonic, is healing and ultra-gentle on the skin. It is an effective treatment for allergies, abscesses, fungal infections and many types of dermatitis. It will decrease inflammation and help to remove dead skin cells, encouraging the healing of wounds. Aloe Vera is also a wonderful plant source for producing a clean, vibrant coat.

Apricot Kernel Oil

Rich in both oleic acid and linoleic acid, it is particularly helpful for dry and damaged hair. Reputed as a natural remedy to prevent hair breakage and is also particularly beneficial to help treat dry scalp conditions.

Basil provides relief from pain, and its antibacterial, analgesic properties make it an effective natural treatment for cuts, wounds, burns and skin infections.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate

An extremely mild conditioning and shine agent, derived from Canola Oil, recommended for use in leave-on baby care products. Nourishes hair for increased health. The most common hair conditioning agents are Chlorides, but Knotty Boy utilizes the more expensive Methosulfate because of its vastly superior quality and safety profile.

Beeswax

is a by-product created by bees in the construction of their hives. It is antibacterial, antimicrobial, healing and purifying, and is applied to wounds to fight infection. With a wholesome sweet scent, pure and natural beeswax reduces moisture loss from the skin and has an almost immediate soothing effect on cracks and fissures of the skin. It has a sweet, honey-like fragrance and golden color. We believe in cultivating cruelty-free beeswax that protects bees’ normal, natural production cycles.

Biodynamic Avocado Oil

a natural sunscreen, is mild, good for sensitive skin, and rich in vitamins A, C, D & E, amino acids and minerals.

Biodynamic Macadamia Oil

pressed from the Australian macadamia nut, nourishes dry skin and moisturizes the coat, leaving it soft and silky.

Burdock Root

plant has been used to treat both bacterial and fungal infections because of the phytochemicals it contains.

Butylene Glycol

A premium conditioning agent and cationic emulsifier derived from the natural plant oil Colza. Used in conditioners, it produces top Salon-quality products with excellent detangling, anti-static and wet-comb properties without leaving buildup or residue

Calendula

Anti-inflammatory, astringent, antifungal, and antiseptic properties make it a wonderful topical agent. It is used to treat boils, rashes, sunburn, chafed skin, insect bites, and other skin irritations.

Canadian Wild Crafted Red Clover

Is used as a poultice to treat skin conditions. It contains high amounts of vitamins, minerals and proteins, including calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, silicon, niacin, thiamine, and vitamins A, B-12, C, E and K.

Certified Organic Hempseed Oil

Hempseed Oil is one of the richest sources of polyunsaturated fats, including Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids and the GLA fatty acids. Hempseed Oil helps relieve dry scalp and hair damage, helping to increase hair shine and manageability.

Chamomile

Essential oils act by soothing irritated skin and tissues. They assist in the healing the body and easing the pain of burns and other skin ailments.

Cetearyl Alcohol

Cetearyl Alcohol is not an ‘alcohol’ that would have a drying effect on skin but rather an emulsifying wax made by combining fatty alcohols extracted from Palm Oil and other vegetable sources. It is used in many cosmetics as an emollient, thickening agent, moisturizer, emulsifier and stabilizer, as well as a carrying agent for other ingredients.

Chromium Oxide

A natural mineral colourant derived from the mineral Chromite, which gives a green colour to natural soaps and cosmetics.

Citric Acid & Silver Citrate

A natural preservative and anti-bacterial agent used to keep Knotty Boy products fresh and long-lasting.  Derived from Citrus Fruit and the natural mineral Silver.

Citrus Seed Extract

derived from the seeds, pulp and white membranes of grapefruit provides antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties.

Coconut Oil

The native people of South and Central America use Coconut Oil as both a food and a medicine. It has been known to aid in the healing of burns and skin irritations and has a powerful antimicrobial effect.

Comfrey

Is an amazing tonic with a high number of beneficial nutrients, chemical compounds, and vitamins and minerals. As a plant with a wide range of medicinal uses for both internal and external ailments, it is emollient, antibacterial, antifungal and antiinflammatory. As if that weren’t enough, it heals wounds and injuries, alleviates pain and increases cell growth.

Cucumber Extract

A natural extract derived from cucumber peels.  Rich in vitamins, minerals and enzymes essential for strong cell growth and repair, cucumber peels offer a natural source for fresh, powerful antioxidants and help soothe irritated or dry scalp

Cyclomethicone

Derived from Silica, which occurs abundantly in nature, it is a specialized silicone polymer

Fennel Oil

Is antiseptic and is used for its soothing, cleansing and toning effects on the skin.  It is an active antioxidant and is helpful in cleansing the body of toxins. It even improves circulation.

Glycerin

Naturally formed during the cold-process soap-making method, Glycerin is a natural humectant (softener and moisturizer) that helps draw and retain moisture into the skin and scalp.

Grapefruit Extract

Also known as citrus seed extract, is a liquid derived from the seeds, pulp and white membranes of the grapefruit. It is used as a natural antimicrobial.

Grapefruit Seed Extract Derived from the seed and pulp of grapefruit, Grapefruit Seed Extract is a natural antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-fungal compound, which has powerful natural preservative qualities.

Grape Seed

Has a high content of linoleic acid, a fatty acid essential for healthy cell membranes and skin. Grape seed oil serves as a wonderful, nourishing moisturizer.

Guar Gum

A natural resin from the seeds of the Asian guar bean tree, it is simply used as a binder and thickener.

Henna Extract

conditions the skin and has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Hop Extract

Is used for the prevention and control of dandruff and flaky skin while keeping fungal infections at bay.

Hydrolyzed Corn Protein & Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein & Hydrolyzed Soy Protein
